The Route
The Route
The Start/Signing On will be at The Coffee House, Fornham All Saints, Bury St Edmunds, which will be opening just for us with the usual Tour fare of a breakfast bun with tea/ coffee included in Entry Fee. Veggie and Gluten Free available. Large area available for parking.
The Lunch halt will be at The Ramsey Rural Museum which has over 70 display areas showing the museum’s collection of historical objects, artefacts and farm machinery. For those with green fingers there’s the adjoining, wonderful Ramsey Abbey ‘secret’ Walled Garden with attendants who can answer any gardening questions.
Admission and teas/coffee included. Café and Picnic areas available with the option of pre-booking a Ploughman’s Lunch when entering the event. Huge area for parking.
The Finish will be at Oakington Garden Centre (https://www.oakingtongardencentre.co.uk) with a ‘finishers’ memento from us for each crew member. A family-run enterprise, Oakington Garden Centre has been owned and run by the Sadler family since 1981 and their ‘Pollinator Patch’ exhibit was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal at last year’s Chelsea Flower Show. South Suffolk entrants will have full access of the Garden Centre and The Olive Tree Café . Massive area for parking. Really close to the A14/M11/A428/Cambridge northern bypass
The route will be approximately 70 miles and will pass other interesting sites and beautiful countryside between your venue stops.
Cars of 25+ years or anything you consider interesting are eligible! The event fee is £45, which includes driver and one passenger entrance to all venues. Additional passengers can be paid for at the individual venues.
